Adjacent to the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, MATSUBISHI Japanese Restaurant is renowned for its exquisite traditional Japanese cuisine with impeccable attentive service.

We are notable for our authentic sizzling Teppanyaki, alongside our premium Sushi and Sashimi, and our extensive selection from our a la carte menu. A wide selection of our sashimi and seafood are continuously shipped from Japan to ensure its freshness and quality.

The restaurant offers five Teppanyaki private rooms that can sit up to 16 for celebrations and parties, and one intimate private room up to 4 for those who desire some privacy. We have a Sushi counter that can sit up to 9, and our main dining area is a combination of regular tables and Teppanyaki tables where you can see our chefs in action.

Established in 1979, MATSUBISHI Japanese Restaurant was first located on Jaffe Road Hong Kong. At the time of establishment, very few Teppanyaki restaurants existed and we saw the opportunity to penetrate the market. Using only fresh, high-quality, seasonal ingredients delicately combined with traditional spices, we created simple yet succulent delicacies. In 1989, we moved to the Convention Plaza – our existing location. This prime location gave our diners a view of Kowloon skyline and Victoria Harbour whilst enjoying the sizzling aroma of Teppanyaki.

The name MATSUBISHI was originated from a Japanese Family Crest, otherwise known as Ka-Mon in Japanese. Each family crest is a symbol or an emblem of a family, as well as the evidence of family blood, roots and self-identity. “MATSU” defines pine tree while “BISHI” characterize the rhombus shape of a quadrilateral.

Our MATSUBISHI logo portrays two pine tree leaves forming a rhombus with a flower, symbolizing MATSUBISHI and its patron as one.
